“Turn, turn, turn” are the words made famous in song by Pete Seeger in 1959 and the Byrds, in 1965. To everything there is a time and a season in life, and the seasons must turn, one after another… nothing lasts forever.

The soon-coming season of dying leaves will serve as another beautiful reminder of this.

Still, I was surprised to find this scene earlier this morning. August 29 is too early for Fall colors. Or… is it? Could it be that I too resist change to one degree or another, not wishing to see familiar things end?

Yes, I can understand how my 5-year old grandson feels… the day ends too soon; who wants to go to sleep now?

Not me.

But change must come and all things must come to an end.

It is good to have reminders.
