No too long ago this spot was part of a small, seasonal stream at the point where it entered a lake. A beaver came along and set about to do as beavers do; build himself a nice dam. So he started by chewing down an aspen tree…

Apparently our beaver had not gotten the memo about the “seasonal” part, so, by the time he’d finished downing his first tree the small creek had dried up. Hopefully all that work won’t be for nothing. Hopefully next Spring when the water is flowing again he will return to finish the job.

On the other hand, maybe this isn’t the right spot to raise a beaver home. The creek will again dry in the Summer and leave you high and dry…
