"The Columbia River is North America's largest river, in volume. Its headwaters are in both the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia and the Clark Fork in the State of Montana, named for William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The river flows through the east-central portion of Washington State with its last 300 miles (480 km) forming the Washington-Oregon state boundary. Seventy of those miles flow through the magnificnet Columbia River Gorge. The river meets the Pacific Ocean at Ilwaco, Washington, across from Astoria, Oregon." (Excerpts from Wikipedia)
