Oregon Dunes

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is a unique ecosystem spread over more than forty miles along the Southern Oregon coast. Here, wind and water have sculpted the sands and sparse vegetation into some pretty unexpected patterns. It is not unusual, in the Oregon Dunes, to find desert-like sandscapes and wetlands coexisting side-by-side in a magical domain of surprising contrasts.

While some dunes change shape rapidly, others do so over much longer periods of time. This allows various forms of life, both flora and fauna, to thrive in an otherwise hostile environment.

In our Oregon Dunes images we seek to capture the ever-changing scenery and the amazing adaptability of life; two major identifiers of this fascinating microcosm.
