Columbia Gorge Panorama

Gorge in the afternoon

Columbia Gorge Panorama, in Chanticleer Point (Women's Forum); Landscape by John Christopher

The Columbia river, seen from Chanticleer Point, disappears into the distance, on a rare calm day in early February. The Southwestern cliffs of Washington State are clearly reflected on the river surface. Vista house in visible on the Oregon slopes. This is the entrance view into the Columbia river Gorge, the East-West border line between the two great Northwestern States of Washington and Oregon.
