Land Ahoy

End of a Journey for a tall ship

Land Ahoy, in South Western Washington; Landscape by John Christopher

Seen arriving at the mouth of the Columbia river gorge, is the Lady Washington; a 1989 reproduction of a 90 ton trading vessel built in Massachussets. Sails are folded as she floats downstream, revealing the tall masts and intricate rope work. This vessell has starred in several Hollywood productions, famously as the HMS Interceptor in Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl
